Since we got absolutely nothing to lose at this point with the seriousness of Zuni's injury it is worth a shot. I am grateful that she has remained stable and

Hi Stevi,
When Duke was purchased, were radiographs taken of his feet? Have there been any taken since then?

I feel your frustration, Chris.
Agree with you that the paring of soles is generally NOT warranted, although commonly done. Definitely raises red flags for me. Check some of these resources for

Guidelines for Trimmers?
Hello, I have looked and looked but am at a loss. Are there guidelines somewhere that I can print and give to my trimmer? My horses are barefoot. I am not overly happy with the way she's been trimming

No. Sole bruising is a result, not a cause of anything.

I'm sure this is extremely frustrating for both of you.
Looking at the other photos, I can see her heels are underrun and the frogs don't make ground contact. There is some flaring all around that

Re: Seedy toe
High Renee,
No, you don't need to apply anything. What does need to happen, however, is that the trim should be backing the toe far enough that all the damaged material is being removed.
