Would be totally awesome to work with but in reality, way too much "firepower" for what you need to train your eye and make improvements to a trim.

Shed frog/white chalky sole, hollow sound in quarters
I don't have my mare's (Sierra) case history up, lots of photos trying to organize, vet is coming this Friday (5/24/19) to do x-rays. Hope to have it all up this weekend.

Thank you, Lavinia, I didn’t know Paint would do all that. I will play around with it today.

That is the vet-caliber software/hardware for precision diagnostics.

Hi Kim
If you have Windows as an operating system, you have Paint. Open that and play around with it - it does a lot of neat stuff. It's the one I use for all the markups.

Software for lines on hoof pics
It would be a help to me to be able to draw straight lines on my hoof pictures, but I have no idea how to do it (I’m a total computer illiterate). Can anyone suggest what software I should

The entire foot is weak so every structure is "misshapen" - including the frog. With time, as it becomes healthier, the shape of the frog will also change to what you are more accustomed to

Bars
Hi again,
I thought it was better to separate issues. I would like to know the reason for laid bars, the damages if any of being laid and how to address them.
Thanks again to everyone

Frogs
Hi all,
Can someone tell me:
- Do frogs shed seasonally? Is it normal to almost totally lose them so that they can grow renewed again or not?
- What's the reason for a frog not having central sulcus?

There are several good trimmers in SD. One is Dani Lloyd in Anza. I lost my phone yesterday,, so do not have her #. You can also check with PHCP. On their website, look for Practitioners, Southern

the straps can be a little stiff when you first get them, I just use a pair of needle nose pliers until they soften up, or many people just use their hoof pick.
i think you’ll be happy with

San Diego north county trimmers, this is my first post
Hello all,
this is my first post here, no album or case history file yet, working on it. I don't know yet if my mare is IR working on getting tests done. She did have a possible laminitis episode
