Seedy toe

My mini is getting over seedy toe from his laminitis.  He was just trimmed again today.  Is there something I should be applying to the bottom of the hoof, toe area, to ward off infection.

Thank you,
Renee Callie

High Renee,

No, you don't need to apply anything. What does need to happen, however, is that the trim should be backing the toe far enough that all the damaged material is being removed.

Pictures would help.

The farrier has been backing the toe and is happy with the progress.  Thank you!

Hello Renee.  Since your mini has had laminitis, do you have a case history up on the main page?
