I read about taking good radiographs and I was wondering if, instead of a tack placed at the tip of the frog, can I tape a small flat washer to the spot?  And will a strip of electrical wire taped to the hoof from the coronet to the tip of the hoof work as well? Crackers will be having radiographs on his fronts tomorrow and I would like to get them as best as possible.  It is always a crap shoot though because the vet isn't very patient.  He has a huge patient load and this area is not spoiled with veterinary choice.

Those are perfectly acceptable ways to mark the dorsal wall and the location of the tip of the frog.
