The only two things I know of (and just checked again) that will
interfere with thyroxine absorption are soy and calcium. Since calcium
is in everything, human dosing instructions call for taking it on an
empty stomach.

Millions of horses get their thyroid supplement in a meal and with good
results, documented on blood work. Major issue with calcium is with
supplemented calcium so probably not a good idea to give in a meal that
contains added calcium.

That said, if supplementing in meals and levels aren't going up, try
empty stomach.
