How much fat can a PPID horse tolerate as percent of total diet?
I've fed CoolStance Copra meal in the past and the horses did very well on it. Now that one has been diagnosed as PPID, I've stopped using it, but all are losing weight.
If I feed the one that needs to gain the most weight 4 lbs/day at 8%fat, that 145g fat in a total diet or 10,872 (assuming 20 lbs. hay). That's only 1.3% fat in the diet. Is that too much?
