In this case "Fasted" meant no hay or grain for about a 10 hour period.
This was done because the attending vet said the results weren't accurate unless the horse was fasted. Of course the Insulin went way down......horses were declared "normal", not IR, though no Insulin number was anywhere near 10. Most were in the mid 20 or higher range. Sigh.
