Not Nancy but YES!, Lyme can cause laminitis that is uglier than that from any other cause. It is not an intermittent thing, however.


Your mare's anticipation of the storms could be causing an exaggerated stress response that is causing transient foot pain. Same thing with being separated from her herd. Heat and sun are known to cause varied pulses that are not related to laminitis.


Do you have a case history up for your girl? If so, would you please include the link so we can reference it to give you better answers. If not, would urge you to get one posted for the same reason. Are there any current  hoof pics available?
