I had my horse's hocks inject twice a year for 4 years...do not anymore as I am following Dr. Kellon's recommendations for joints successfully.  But, my vet did say he would be sore for a day or so after injecting and to give him some time off (a day or two).  I did and he was fine and I never noticed him having any problems.

Realize of course, he was not having any other issue at that time.
