I have had good results keeping my Cushings horse in a corral
overnight and then turning him out with a grazing muzzle with my
other horses in a two acre pasture for about 8 hours a day. He can
still graze, but doesn't get near what he would without the muzzle.
He has something to keep him occupied. He has lost about 100 pounds
since the beginning of April! :)
I use a slow feed hay bag at night, but it is not as slow as I had
hoped. I got 1.25 inch, would get 1.0 if I were doing it over.
