It happens. It happened to me quite some time ago and Chancey was just fine. I did exercise him and ice his feet. Dr Kellon told me to ice the feet for 24 hours and also that " horses that have been correctly managed usually dodge the bullet in scenarios like this'" Sounds like you are doing the right things--maybe add icing his feet. I suspect he will do just fine with his normal 10# of soaked hay tonight.
