Oops! I also meant to mention:  do the hair test for HYPP (Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis) first, as it is relatively cheap, and you need that information.  Muscle biopsy is expensive, so before you do that, also do blood work for Vitamin E and selenium levels.  If everything comes back normal, then the muscle biopsy is the next step.
