Wondering what the highest pergolide dosage is?  Need to show your vet there are horses on higher dosages? 

The Pergolide Dosage Database Statistics include:

• The percentage of equines on certain dosages
• The highest dosage
• The average length of time equines are on pergolide
• The oldest, youngest and average diagnosis ages 
• The percentage of Overall ACTH control
• The percentage of ACTH control for high and low dosages 
• The percentage of equines showing side effects 
• The percentage of equines with history of laminitis
• Amount of mares, geldings and stallions 
• The breeds of equines represented 
• Links to details on the equines in the database
• Much more

Some equines have histories of 10 years or more, detailing:

• dosage changes
• long term pergolide use effects on individuals
• responses to pergolide both symptomatically and by blood tests
• ACTH, glucose, insulin, leptin and other blood test results
• IR Calculator interpretations 
• Diet influences on blood work and physical symptoms 

It is important to keep your database information up to date.  The database has already helped improve the quality of life for many PPID horses but with our member base, we can have a very effective tool for study to influence current thinking about pergolide dosages and PPID control.  There is no better way to "thank" the ECIR Group's owners and volunteers than by contributing your information and by participating you not only help your own equine(s) but all equines with PPID and IR.
