Thanks.  I think it's the frozen ground that makes me think he is stiff.  I walked him on even ground (driveway) and he is fine.  I think I'll try to increase til mid January to see, but it looks like his canine teeth have a lot of tarter build up so I think that may be a big part of his attitude.   I'll get that off this evening and see if that helps him.
