My vet insists on fasting.  One time I forgot and the  ACTH jumped sky high.  My horse is not IR.   I realize the fasting test results are not the same as nonfasting, but look at their rise and fall and the condition and symptoms of my horse.

When you only have one mobile vet in your area ,, and you know she is adversarial  ( took me 3 times to spell that correctly) then use her to your advantage,  Take away the hay before she arrives.. and if she  asks if the horse is fasted..be ok with  saying  yes.. This is what I would do.. others might not... ,  I think the equine gods will forgive you... I know they look fondly on me with the things I do for Jesse.
