I've had horses refuse to eat something if they can smell more tempting food..  I started feeding my old guy TC Senior and the minis then refused to eat TC Lite anymore.  Now they all get Senior to carry supplements.  You could try sprinkle a little of the preferred food on top, or feed them all the same thing.
