I don't know if this is any consolation Tara, but a lot of people in our area had lots of problems with hay for the last 3 years...all sticky, hard, stemmy, etc. However, what I wanted to mention was that when Scotty was in boarding situations for 14 years, hay was switched on a dime, new brought in and started, including small bales and round bales, he never coliced or had an issue with it. I hope this will offer some hope for you.
