Re: horse sensitive to mineral supplementation
Hi Clare,
I'm confused about the beet pulp suggestion. But perhaps she's right about the magnesium. We don't know how much you're feeding of the 3 products mentioned Omneity,Amino Trace and Remission. But I copy/pasted the nutritional analyses of these 3 products,to compare for myself. And you 'could' be feeding 22g of magnesium.....we don't know, because we don't know how much of each you are feeding. My worry is that there is a lot of overlap, with the mineral amounts of these supps, which you can see if you do what I did, with the examination of the 3 at once . You're not balancing anything, and spending a lot of money while you're at it. I forget,is she still able to eat hay at all? If yes, would be good to have hay tested to figure out what is needed and what isn't. Then you can by your minerals separately, and put together your mix,or ask MadBarn to do a custom mix for you,or even search the market for something that comes really close(not best, but better than nothing) to what you actually need. MadBarn may have something. Lorna in Eastern Ontario |
