Re: horse sensitive to mineral supplementation

Omneity is not a complete feed. It's a vitamin and mineral supplement fed at only 120 g for a 500 kg horse. Both Omneity and beet pulp are around 10% protein but regardless protein is not absorbed in the hind gut.. Beet pulp is not particularly high calorie, not that that would interfere with anything anyway. It does not cause hind gut acidity any more than high protein would. You should never have been feeding Amino Trace+ with Omneity since they are both vitamin and mineral supplements with identical ingredients (some differences in amounts). Between Remission and Amino Trace+ you were feeding 12 grams of magnesium. Omneity adds almost as much as Amino Trace+ at 5.4 g. What are your "nutritionist's" qualifications?
