Hi Donna,
Don't be too put off by 2nd cut hay.  I have some beautiful 2nd cut orchard that is a total 7.5% sugar and last year, from the same field, it was 7.2%.  I also could have gotten a meadow grass that is 7.0% but my girls like orchard better and it's less messy/wasteful.  Wish I could get some to you.
