Maxine just made me realize something because I said "1kg less" and I think that's because I was automatically assuming 5kg was a twice daily fed amount.  If it's only 1x a day he may well need more not less. 

This is what happens when I'm trying to do to much at the same time so thanks for the extra brain cells Maxine!
