I so want to try the metformin, however the vet messaged me last night and said we should keep the Insulin Wise going for 4-6 wks (started 2/3) and retest then. I will ask if she can come next week to pull blood and retest as it will be 4 wks. I truly believe the sooner the better we get that insulin down the better for him. She was not familiar with Invokana, however in all fairness maybe didn't know the brand name. In addition, I sent her his complete feeding info, which is exactly what ECIR has recommended. Since messaging her last night I have not heard back. I will keep pushing for metformin asap.
