Hi Jessica

You’ve definitely come to the right place!

If you can get Patch’s case history filled out and photos of him and his feet (+ the x-rays) uploaded, it will help the fantastic volunteers at ECIR to help you and him. It’s a bit time-consuming to get it all done, but well worth it.

Getting your hay tested is important, too. I sent my samples over to EquiAnalytical in the US for their Trainer 603 test - it was worth the extra effort to do that. After you’ve got your hay results, you can ask an ECIR person to balance any missing/low minerals to it, so that you know you’re feeding Patch exactly what he needs. And once you’ve got the relevant blood test results, you’ll have a better idea of what’s going on.

Patch sounds lovely - he's very lucky to have found you.
