Hi Nicolle,

For what it's worth I personally know at least one horse that developed laminitis due to anaplasmosis.  The vet was late to test and treat (long story short it was January and he didn't think the horse could possibly have a tick borne disease at that time of year). The horse did make a full recovery but it was a long process.
