Try her on acetyl-L-carnitine, 1 gram per 100 lbs of body weight twice a day for two weeks then once a day. Also get some 50 mL syringes and syringe in 75 mL of  Karo corn syrup immediately after work. This will help build up her glycogen stores without aggravating insulin.
