Thanks for your support yesterday. Lady seems to be fine this
morning. My vet did respond yesterday afternoon, but since Lady was
already showing improvement, she only suggested electrolytes

Since Blue is on the peppermint tea, let me chime in here with what Dr. Kellon asked me to do for Blue's iron overload - if you make it into true tea, it releases the tannins, which I think she said

Donna, you've gotten some great advice on this - hope she's doing well.
I just want to add that my vet is two HOURS away. I have an "Emergency Kit" in an old small suitcase in the feed room, filled

NEW MEMBER - MANY QUESTIONS
Hi! I'm so happy to have found this group! I've "inherited" a 30
yr. old mare, a pasture pal for my 7 yr. old T-bred gelding. The
owner has a chronic illness and cannot care for her any longer.

Re: Ally had a colic, did I feed too much beet pulp at once?
Thanks Eleanor,
I think you're right on...helps to know stomache size & she's little. I think too much
volume & too much water, especially for a scarfer. Today, she's good & I'm spending the

Until you get the fat off the tail head, don't be wanting to put weight
back on your horse, lady. You'll be defeating yourself and hurting

Maybe it's the pigging out on them that does it??? Like getting in the
feed bin?? Mine are out under oak trees and eat them as they fall with
the deer, so it's a natural thing--hardly a gorging
