I just had my horse tested today. My vet found out UC Davis is now doing the test. Luckily I am in Sacramento, so it's only like 20 minutes away.

Abby is definitely Cushings. Especially this time of year. One symptom of PPID is loss of topline. Insulin is really good if she wasnt fasted. What time was her last hay? We usually get

I would also stop the CTB before the blood work. We know it can help some horses with PPID symptoms, but there doesn't seem to be as much evidence that it can

Albuquerque is where I was born! Still in my heart and blood. Forever.
Yes, your mare is PPID and definitely needs pergolide. I would suspect she'll need more than 1mg/day.

Was it eACTH or cortisol that was tested? If it was eACTH, there definitely is a reference range, which is different for different labs. For instance Guelph is 2 to 10 and I believe Cornell

Just received the ACTH results back on my gelding, who has been IR in the past. Once I can figure out how to get to his very old "history" file, I'll be updating it. Cross your fingers for me.
