Congrats Jana and Mikado! This is such inspiring news to hear. If only we could make this group mandatory reading for every vet, think how many horses would be well.

You've gotten great help so far, just a few short things.
Unless I missed something, your hay S/S is unknown, making it the most likely culprit. You should soak.
Fine to add BP to the ODTB cubes,

Michael,
This may be OT but I know a lot of us need an occasional NSAID for some reason.
Previcox and Equioxx are not the same thing. The active ingredient is the same--firocoxib--but the Equioxx is

Hi Gayle
Unfortunately you just won't know about the prairie grass until you test. It may be okay, but it also might not be. If you can get a sample to run off an ESC and Starch before buying

I would check into haylage. Some of your companies have average analyses available, including minerals.

There's no safety data with specific reference to hormones. In other species, the main safety issue is interference with oxygen binding to hemoglobin. A short term (31 day) feeding study in horses

"Green" is not the problem. "Yellow" does not make hay safe.

Thanks, Lorna and Nancy. We've been down this road before, but never so severely.
Nancy, you're absolutely correct - 2010 hay. The truckload we managed to buy this past season tested OK in protein,

Re: HELP please?? greener hay - am i heading for trouble?
Hi Rachel,
Can you give us a time line?
For how many meals did you try soaking(draining) your hay for an hour?
What improvements did you see as soon as you began soaking at 8 hours?
Is it certain
