Was: Dawn Update Now: High DosageTapering
Hey George! Long time no chat!
This is pretty cool to know. I felt comfortable trying this mostly because Dawn has been on pergolide for so long (since 2005). I had no idea others were bumping up

My two as well - no need to use APF, etc. They seem to tolerate the increases just fine.

Re: Update: Dawn doing not bad at all :-)
Hi George,
Hand waving in air to make it 6.
I just bumped 3 of mine up by 1mg each.
They went from 9 to 10mg, 4 to 5mg and 6 to 7 mg.
No reaction to bumping 1 mg.

Hi Lavinia,
Hope your guys are all doing well, thanks for the additional numbers for the survey :-) We are up to a population of 5 with 100% reacting the same way. I think we are on to something

Once on J-herb....forever must stay on J-herb?
Malika's been on J-herb since mid-May..and with boots, she is sound to move.
My question: how does one know when or if to take them off J-herb?
Obviously, we're only about 3 months into the "healing"

If anyone is in the Oakdale CA area, and in need of Thyro-L, Pioneer is selling a Levothyroxine product made by Pala-Tech. Just picked some up this morning.

Re: Healthy mouth for horses safe with yucca in it?
Lavinia,
The pocket formed at the gum line because the teeth were separated by a small amount and feed was packed in it. He thinks they will realign with time. I agree with your theory of using it

Re: Pergolide Prascend Transition
We have just done this transition as our vet said they couldn’t prescribe
pergolide any more it would have to be prascend. The only effect I have
seen is to my bank balance as it is more expensive.

Hi Mariann,
Great that Sunchero is doing so much bettr. Would you please answer a few questions regarding the switch to Prascend.
Was the dose the same as the pergolide dose?
Any bloodwork

Yup, 6-8 weeks is standard.
BLGG is much more expensive than EA.

FWIW, my theory on tapering is that the amount of tapering required is proportional to the percentage increase over the current dose and that in Wind's case it appears that any increase of 30% or less
