Re: Healthy mouth for horses safe with yucca in it?
Lavinia,
The pocket formed at the gum line because the teeth were separated by a small amount and feed was packed in it. He thinks they will realign with time. I agree with your theory of using it

Re: Pergolide Prascend Transition
We have just done this transition as our vet said they couldn’t prescribe
pergolide any more it would have to be prascend. The only effect I have
seen is to my bank balance as it is more expensive.

Hi Mariann,
Great that Sunchero is doing so much bettr. Would you please answer a few questions regarding the switch to Prascend.
Was the dose the same as the pergolide dose?
Any bloodwork

FWIW, my theory on tapering is that the amount of tapering required is proportional to the percentage increase over the current dose and that in Wind's case it appears that any increase of 30% or less

Hi Susan
Can you download the Word version? If you save a copy of the word to your computer, then open it you should be able to type in the boxes. Save that filled out version to your own computer

Prascend/Sunchero
Sunchero was on Pergolide for 12 yrs and up to 6.0 mg this year. Vet switched
him to Prascend 3 weeks ago. What a difference!
He has always been an angry bitey horse on the ground w/no ears

Re: How to feed ALCAR
Tracey -
The typical dose is 1 gram per 100 pounds/day, so that would be 12 grams/day. I just put it in with the supplements and down it goes.
You might want to start out with maybe half the dose

Re: How to feed ALCAR
Hi Tracey,
AlCar is fed at 1g per 100lbs, so 12g would be the dose for Chance. Yes, powder is what to use.

Re: Pergolide Prascend Transition
Hi Erin,
Well that stinks - why fix it if it ain't broke? Unfortunately, yes the cost is quite a bit higher for the Prascend vs compounded pergolide. Definiely would not drop the dose at this time
