If this were me, I would increase by 1 mg, and re-test in 3 weeks. In fact, two of my crew are on 3 mg, and also close to the top end of normal, so I bumped them up to 4 mg.

I have been soaking it, so yes, he's getting sore from it when soaked.

Yes, that could of course also be a factor. But it's still not far from the recommended 10%, and subtracting a percentage from soaking, it should be below 10. That's why I'm suspecting the fructans
