Hi Paula,
Not an expert at all, but my "layman's" way of thinking of the" feeding for the test" thing is this. If time has gone by since they last ate, then the next meal (talking hay here) will set

Hi Linda -
Of course you can do some work on the trim. If anything, I think you should pick around and just see what is there and what you anticipate getting off. If some pops off, then fine.

Hi Jainie,
I have been soaking it, so yes, he's getting sore from it when soaked.
There's not much of last year's hay to be had I'm afraid. This neighbour that I saw today had just a little bit left.

Yes, that could of course also be a factor. But it's still not far from the recommended 10%, and subtracting a percentage from soaking, it should be below 10. That's why I'm suspecting the fructans

Re: Oh no, extremely high wsc! Would you feed this?
Hi, Maria - I would say the hay is definitely the culprit - 11.4% ESC is more than enough to do it for my horses (I speak from experience).
If I were you, I would try to stock up on last year's hay,

Blood tests came back.
ACTH 88.1
Insulin 25.13
Cortisol 4.13
These came from Cornell. I have updated his history. We started him on 2 cc pergolide yesterday. It's a liquid. Looks like cough
