Hi Melanie,
Shawnee's ferritin level is actually quite a bit high as high normal should be more like 200 (lab ranges aren't necessarily normal ranges, just the averages for what the lab sees).

Shawnee's iron panel is back:
serum iron 190 ug/dL (75-288)
TIBC 397 (231-455)
ferritin is 268

High starch hay
As a general guideline, if hay has a starch of 2.5, how low should the esc be to be safe. I know a high starch number is worrisome even if the total s/s is below 10%. Thanks. Laura K

First, he's not failing! My boy has had PPID for at least 11 years and if it weren't for his appy eyes, he'd be as he was years ago.
Since testing can get expensive, you may want to share

Thank you SO MUCH for your input. I will share this with my vet. First vet said a 1mg dose of Prascend. I wanted to use the compound so that I could afford future tests and additional med's

Cornell Results: G/I ratio good but ACTH increased?
I just now receved an email from my vet with Pabatsa's Cornell results. He went from being in the *Severe* category to being in the *Compensated* range. His current levels are Glucose: 84 Insulin:

My vet has actually asked that I approach the group and specifically Dr. Kellon for advice or direction. He has never seen an ACTH number rise so dramatically and rapidly in just 6
