Is this joint supplement safe for IR horses?
Does anybody know if the supplement "OCD Pellets" is safe for IR horses? A friend of mine with an elderly horse with arthritis is raving about it. Would like to try on my older IR horse but not sure

Re: Update on Dixie and Dexter...need help with depressed mule!
It could have to do with the insulin resistance if the cold is causing painful reduced blood flow to his feet related to high vasoconstriction or previous vascular damage from the IR.
Have you tried

And this nutrition manager's experience with how many IR/PPID horses is ???
The problem here is not the molasses level per se but the overall sugar and starch which in the posted analysis is too high

Re: Cold and Insulin
Hi Nancy,
Yes, I have had my minerals balanced to my hay. Kathleen did that for me. Maybe I should just check with her to see what she recommends.
Thanks a bunch,

Hi Lj,
Did you post for some suggestions of nutrition books that would complement Dr. Kellon's NRC + course? I may have missed that post.
I assume you looked for the NRC, 2007 Nutrient Requirements
