Re: Jasper's Journal of Pulse & lameness last 10 days.
Hi Nancy
My only concern about letting it go for another day is, he's got a real foul smell coming from both hoofs. Not the normal hoof smell the infection smell. So think he's popped out more

Hi Corrine.
Been through times like these. You can do only what you can do. If he's not having it, let him and you rest and try again tomorrow.
Go make a cup of tea or a glass of wine and take a mini

Re: poor fat digestion and shiny manure
Shiny poop is more commonly caused by a mucus coating, which indicates some *possible* inflammation in the lower bowel. (but not always) As Nancy says, an updated case history would be grand.

Ginger's manure has an iridescent blue sheen which I assume is undigested fat. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's freshly ground flax, flax oil or chia seeds. I did not see this before this

Hi Corrine,
I do not have a horse with PPID or IR, but did reach out to the group earlier in the year when one of his vets were concerned about his weight.
Anyway - I am writing because I have a lot

Hi Corrine,
Although messy, draining abscesses is a good thing. It should help with his comfort fairly quickly. Soaking in as hot a water as he will tolerate with epsom salts 2-3 times per day will

Re: Miniature on Prasend
Hi LJ,
Maybe you missed the part about this being a miniature horse. 57 mg of previcox would be a very inappropriate dose for Connie's or any other mini! Please review Jaini's very informative note
