Hi Lj
Can you please refine your question? IME NSAIDs are sometimes needed because the issue has progressed too far. That was true of my very arthritic PPID Morgan who could not longer get up with out

Re: serious weight loss
Hi, is it Mary?
Do you have a case history on your Dutch warmblood? How was he diagnosed as IR? At the age of 16, he could also have PPID. Recommend you do ACTH, insulin, glucose and leptin on him.

Thanks for this clarification on the U-Balance, Dr Kellon. Had seen the rec to another member for half serving so appreciate your post. Wondered about the B-Vits at half levels as well.

The U Balance Foundation is designed for the common high iron and/or manganese hays, which is usually the case in ME. It is very concentrated and often a good fit at half the usual dose. Chromium

Hi Dee,
Excellent news! After the fright to you wore off the episode was probably a bit humorous. Agree that traction is more important than tenderness in this instance.

Hi Dee
I may have missed a conversation about this earlier, if so, I apologize. While it's okay to have it, most horses don't need the chromium as it is abundant in most hays unless grown on alkaline

I've been looking at Uckele U-Balance Foundation and wondering if that would be a good plan as a base. I'm waiting to hear back from the company to find out if there is chromium in it, and how much.
