My comment stands,Lj. Often if a horse is that sore he can be looked at in his stall, a mat/board being put under the foot being worked on.

forgot to add.. the comment my trainer made about Jesse shaking on the ground.. is when we took him out of his stall to have the farrier have a look at him. we didnt walk him more than a few feet.
