Does anyone on the list with a laminitic/foundered Cushing's horse use
Isoxuprine in their management? I'd be interested to hear about it.

Re: starting permax
Hi, everyone,
Very basic question: What is the difference between permax and
cyproheptadine? Due to cost we want to consider all our options. Currently
Strider gets 20 cypro pills a day. Thanks!

skin infections
I was thinking the same thing Robin, most skin infections are staph
or
fungal so an antibiotic or antifungal injection/pill may help. Can
they scrape it and culture it to see whats growing there?

Kay, I wonder...
And this might be NUTS... but I know that the vets can give an
antibiotic shot for rainrot... wonder if it would be worth trying
just for the heck of it? I hear you, that she's NOT out in the rain,

Hi Barbara,
Crusty sores like that are not something I've heard of before with
cushings... but that doesn't mean that its not related. It honestly
sounds very much like a fungus type skin

Welcome Mary - How nice to have someone who is in a vet study on Cushings!
What bloodwork are they using to monitor your horse? How often? What info
have they told you about their study and findings

I am not sure that the hives/bug bites/scabs/itchy allergic reaction is part
of Cushings, but maybe just something that happens with a compromised immune
system. I have read from the pet
