Re: Hay Balancer Suggested Referring This Question To Dr. Kellon
Could you post a photo in your album please? Any changes in his tail for forelock? Any hoof quality issues at the same time?

Re: Mini Archie - Post Trim, Hay Analysis, and Hay Soaking Questions
I think you need to soak it. How about getting some extra hay nets and soaking the hay then hanging it to dry out of the sun but somewhere with decent air movement. She can then just take down a net

Mini Archie - Post Trim, Hay Analysis, and Hay Soaking Questions
My mini did great after his trim on 8/17 and continues to do so. I added some post-trim pics to our album last week.
I received the sugar and starch results on the 3 lots of hay that I have on hand

Re: How long to notice improvement after increasing pergoloide
Ok, good.
I'm guessing each capsule contains 1mg.
1 gm would be way too much.
Just a suggestion....breaking the capsules apart sets you up for losing some of the drug. It also means that, unless she

Re: Tracking hay changes in CH
Hi, Nancy and LeeAnne.
Thanks for all you do, btw. For the first time ever, Cayuse's leptin tested normal and she's compensated IR. That's the CH I'm working on. It would never have happened without

The pasture could be an issue if she has high insulin. If she doesn't, it's a matter of balancing minerals to pasture analysis instead of hay during those months. Until you can get her tested, at

Hi Lavinia,
Did you ever get a chance to review Dancer's photo's I posted? I know you're busy, but the farrier is coming Sept 3rd for her next trim and I thought I would give you a little heads up.

Re: How long to notice improvement after increasing pergoloide
Hi Lorna
Geeze ... I must mean mg. They made powder in capsules. Each cap has 1gm (I guess). It’s at the barn or I’d look. They’re very small and hard to pull apart to empty in mash.

Re: help for Shanae
I didn't see a sugar and starch analysis for the Hygain so would stop that. Could replace with Maxisoy. Definitely stop the barley. You shouldn't need the lupins. Replace lucerne with plain Teff.

If you tell us where you are, hooking up with other members can also have big benefit for buying hay lots together, alternative storage sites, working with local hay suppliers to hold/store XXX amount

Even if she's not IR, your mare is a poster child for a diet that badly needs to be balanced. Until you can get a hay analysis I would suggest:
Stop all grain and Remission
Start flax (or Uckele

Not sure I’ve solved the problem completely. But it sounds promising.
Glad your bronco turned into a great trail companion.

Re: Cabergoline-Dr Kellon please help
Go with the 10 day interval. I don't know where that 30 to 60 days to full effect came from. There are similar comments out there about pergolide but there's really no detailed data to back it up as
