i would routinely add an additional tablespoon of salt for 1000 - 1100 pound horses to increase water consumption in heat and frigid weather. The salt cookies worked well. Recipe in the files

Roundup does kill the plant as it goes to the roots . The problem is when a plant is very stressed and not in growing mode it may not take up chemicals

I am so sorry and so grateful you caught it in time. Most MDs would have no knowledge of the drug, thank goodness your neurologist did. This is why I put my horse's medications in a pill by day case

That dead grass will still have sugar and starch in it and yes I believe you will find that they eat it. I've had to kill grass off with round up and found my picky horse doesn't eat grass
