Cindi,
It depends on what you change the diet to and whether or not the horse has an insulin problem.

Re: Soaking hay and low energy
Glycogen isn't an issue when a horse is not in work. Since blood glucose fasted was normal it's not likely soaking is lowering glucose but you check to make sure.
NFC is lowered by soaking because

Primary changes in minerals would be iron potassium, maybe some manganese. Sodium if that is typically high in your area. The exception to this is when the minerals are sitting on the hay rather than

Re: Jesse.: high insulin and herbs given
Hi Pat
That's not correct. We've got lots of horses on chondroitin. Could you supply a link to this info so we can double check?
Thanks very much.

Did Dr Kellon recommend each of these items?
Can you update your CH LJ? The blood work history would help.
Thanks

I think but am not sure this hay has been tested pre-soak. Agree if being fed long term, should be tested as soaked and include the minerals.

Re: Lateral x-rays/suggestions?
What I love about the thumb tacks - most are 1 cm in diameter. They can be used as a measuring tool to determine the distance to correct breakover in mm.
This would work for the sticky dots as well.

APF for 3 days before starting the Prascend, and keep him on it for a month or so if it works for appetite and attitude. You should be able to start at 0.5 but if you go slower increase it every 2
