Re: Jesse sore
Just a few days after this post, you had his insulin result at 154. Considerably lower than 'over 200'. Think that is a step in the right direction :)

Re: Jesse sore
Just for the record I’m not seeing this trim as going well.
Big hugs to this wonderful, stoic gelding on his birthday. I had one at Jesse’s age. They are beyond special.

Re: Star, slow healing corneal ulcer, suggestions?
Hi Tina
My mare had a slow-healing ('indolent') corneal ulcer last year, right in our seasonal rise (March-April). Her ACTH tested under 30pg/mL but my vet suggested increasing pergolide anyway in

Just an FYI, I think I have correctly re-named all of Scotty's photos to date, and I have added some previous x-rays that show his journey.

Re: Jesse sore
The most recent trim definitely touched the soles and lowered the heels but didn't do much to bring the toes or breakover back.
Those are general observations as there aren't enough photos from after

Re: Seasonal Rise Question Based On New ACTH, Insulin And Leptin Blood Work
Also keep in mind that leptin values will elevate when you start an exercise program (or increase the intensity) and that takes a bit of time to settle down again.
Insulin does fluctuate all the time

Hi Beth
You can't know anything for sure unless you test it. The timothy could be higher in sugar and starch than your 80/20 or vice versa. We know FOR SURE that we do not recommend alfalfa to an IR
