Re: Herbs and rx meds
I buy fenugreek seed from bulkfoods.com A 25 lb costs $43.95 so feeding 4 oz. a day would make it last 100 days. That's about 44 cents a day plus the cost of shipping. Its a good source of vitamins

Sandy
I tie my hay nets and various places in the pasture to tires so they’re eating off the ground and they can’t push it around and have it end up on the other side of the fence. I use double

Re: Love Sick Gelding With Spotty Appetite - Is That Normal?
Hi Dawn - your support gives me strength. The stress and its affect on his PPID condition has been my biggest concern because this has been going on for over a week now. The barn owners are caring

Lynn, that sounds like a good outcome for all. You are not being unreasonable, since this is a temporary boarder and you are not. Accomodations should always be made for the horse's welfare, and

Re: Was: Please explain new blood test results Now: Retested Insulin Results
I received my latest test results from Cornell and KSU. I meant to have Lyme tested but it didn't happen.
Just as in the previous two Cornell tests, Crackers' Insulin is still sky high but the ACTH

Herbs and rx meds
Jesse has bern on fenugreek 2 tbs twice a day for some time. Never moved his labs in any way. Now that invokana has normalized his labs, im thinking of not buying more fenugreek when i run out of it.

Lynn,
Question. Since your barn owners are aware of Relevante's extreme reaction to this filly, why are they continuing to put her next to him? I realize you said they ended up moving her to a round

Re: How Can I Balance the Need to Lose Weight with the Need to Graze?
Careful with carabiners. I used to use them too, but I have seen several pics now online of horses w/ carabiner piercings in their lips/cheeks/faces. I do think there are ones that screw closed

Slow feeder topic locked
I locked the slow feeder nets topic because the nuts and bolts of it (sorry for the pun!) belongs on Horsekeeping where there is actually also a ton of information on this topic.

Re: What type.of slow feeder hay nets do you use?
I made my own hay nets out of paracord, was very easy. Can make whatever size you want; use finer cord if needed, stainless steel rings. I tied a rope to the ring at the bottom, run it through drain
