Every joint injection has some risk of infection. Has his ringbone been confirmed to involve the joint and if so that joint fluid is abnormal?

Re: hylarin-b
It's true the gel formulations work quicker/better but you can also use it in the feed. May need a higher dose.

Re: tylenol in horses
Hi LJ,
It has been discussed before, but there's a dearth of research on its use in horses. Just a quick lookup of 'use of tylenol in horses' in Google can bring up what's up what's been done/or not.

Re: Our pony Flirt in trouble again!!
Hi Roger,
With regard to the administration of Metformin you will probably benefit by doing a search in the messages for information on administering it. We do suggest giving it with feed if possible

Kelsey, it could be that he has more than one abscess pocket to blow, or he didn't quite get it all out the first time. I've learned here that giving jiaogulan can help speed up the process because

I dealt with extended lameness. Actually it started with 13 days of muscle tremors and NWB to the point of lying down. There was a fissure where the abscess had drained but still not much relief. I

Re: Lose of Weight
Whistler is at my farm.
I, too, am concerned about how 'pointy' he has become over the past few months.
I just wanted to add.....Reta,correct me if I'm wrong.....that he hasn't actually lost weight,

Thank you to all who replied. Sherry et al. you are exactly right where I was going wrong in understanding - mixing up ideal weight vs maintaining weight. Thank you for your example and spelling it
