I have been at this boarding barn for 15 years and they generally have great care (but you have to do the barn owner's way). Scooter is not allowed any hay net as his food drive is strong. (the

Hi Jenny,
It would be super helpful if you could post some leg/hoof photos to go with those x-rays. Info on that is here: https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki/1472.

Mark ups on hoof radiographs request (Lavinia?)
Hello,
I had lateral views done on my 9yo IR gelding, Rico. I have been trimming his hooves for two years and I am new at it, so wanted to get the radiographs to check my work. I have reviewed some

Thanks Dr. Kellon I guess only the Cornell labs due in next week will be able to tell. A slow feeder was suggested. I can't use a hay net because she has a mild C3-4 arthritic change and I don't

So Lindsay,
Where are you have you having the ACTH done if A&M is shipping the insulin out to Cornell anyway?

Kirsten, yes, you are correct that there's a chance the other horse is eating more than his share of the hay. I've not separated the horses and weighed Audi's hay apart from his buddy's. That said,

Idexx doesn't do ferritin so must have sent it to KSU. The reference range listed is KSUs. The result would be milk iron overload **but** ferritin is as fragile as ACTH and unless it was processed

Wow! Last draw I paid $145 for ACTH & $168 for insulin/glucose. This is Northern California. My vet uses an in-house lab and the prices went up from last year. Maxine, I'm the same, no matter what

Good to hear he is doing better and getting regular trims! I can't help with your ferriten question, that's best left to Dr Kellon.
I'm curious why the hay cannot be weighed if they are already doing

Re: My new mare is on Regumate having Cornell testing done?
IR could certainly do it. As for possible side effects of Regumate, it mimics the hormonal environment of pregnancy and human PMS.

I was not able to get entrance to the barn from early March to end of May due to government closure. Yes this was very frustrating. All I could do was drop off vet prescribed Prascend, Insulinwise
