Hi Judy, As Kirsten as said it is the wool felt pads from Equine Fusion and I do have more that one pair to switch them out. Another option is to buy the felt liners for Sorel boots mens xtra

The only test you can use during the fall for PPID is the ACTH - the TRH stim shouldn't be used, even if your vet could do it, as there are no adjusted seasonal ranges available to use as

I would do ACTH, insulin and glucose on both horses. Their ACTH should be in the middle of the normal range outside of the seasonal rise. So if the normal range is 9-35, aim for 20 or less even

Boots don't really prevent damage or aid in healing.Their function is sole padding. The best measure of whether a horse needs boots is their soundness.

If it's from Equine Fusion the pad is wool felt. You can also buy wool felt and make your own. You'll need a few pads because they get damp and then need to dry.
