Re: suggestions in getting insulin down
Hi Vicky,
It looks like Samson's ACTH has never been very high and that he was diagnosed largely by symptoms 3 years ago? Which makes me wonder if he might benefit from a higher dosage now given that

If you notice her hoof pain increases with colder temps, you will want to try and keep her warmer. But not all IR horses get winter laminitis, so just watch her and if you see a correlation between

Re: Recommendations for next steps?
Hi Rhonda, it looks like you had good control of the ACTH through the seasonal rise, so likely his dosage of Prascend was correct. I would check him again next August to make sure it is still well

How Do I Know-Winter blanketing/leg wrapping
Hello,
I live in Alberta Canada at elevation of more than 4500 feet. We do have very fluctuating winter temps, from above 0* C down to -40* C. My IR horse has previosly been pasture only in winter.

Re: Frog and hoof question
Hi Heather. As far as the soles.. if its crumbling, the hoof is starting to give it up and I just let nature remove it. I leave it to exfoliate on its own. Sometimes, I have noticed on my own horses

Re: Efficacy of Vitamin E gel caps
On my search of Vit e in this group, I came across a message from 5-26-17 #207785, where someone posted the same exact concern with Swanson's vit e not having sufficient blood levels.

Hi Sharon,
The squaring off at the toe is easing the breakover time slightly, but nowhere near enough to put it where the bony column actually needs it to be. The toes are all too far ahead of where

Agree with ACTH not being necessary (and my vet agreed), but it's part of their packages.
And I thought the same as advice here re: leptin (based on what I'm learning), but she seemed to be pushing

Trim Advice Needed -
Hi Lavinia! Could you look at Taillight's feet and let me know about the trim. The photos were taken just a day after my farrier came. The vet told him to square off or back off the toe, I am not sure
