Hi, I’ve put that I’m a new member as this is the first time I’ve ever posted (but I joined a long time ago - can’t remember when!). I have a Welsh Mountain pony who was diagnosed as IR 7

Well I can tell you, this “old dog” has been on tramadol for many years. I’ve had three back surgeries and am full of hardware and it allows me to keep moving, I hate that I do but it’s either

I'll recheck Mill's temp tonight. It was 33 in the barn this morning when I let her out.

Re: Dropping Prascend dosage
Given that she is within the normal range of 9-35 pg/ml now, although still towards the higher end of it, I would say her current dose is adequate. If she was mine I definitely would not reduce her

Caitlin, I probably tested to excess when I was monitoring and adjusting Logo’s pergolide doses. If you can only manage an annual testing, I would do it in late July or early August to see if

Re: Help with swollen leg
I was thinking scratches too. Check for ulcer like abrasions in the back of the pastern upnto the fetlock. These can be super painful and can cause the kind of inflammation and lameness you note.

Re: Help with swollen leg
That’s promising, Jennifer! The temp is a bit low so I would check it again later to make sure the thermometer wasn’t stuck in a poop. Have you hosed or wrapped it? Looked for any scratches?

Hi Caitlin,
That’s an amazing drop In ACTH. A normal ACTH would generally be in the mid teens, mid way in the testing range so I would recommend keeping the pergolide dose the same as it seems to

Re: GAVI is bad to worse ,Im worried and need next steps please
Tara, it’s my understanding that you took the endogenous (not stim) ACTH in late December and it read 348. Did you increase the pergolide at that point? I’m one who had to go to very high

Re: Help with swollen leg
Jennifer, it’s possible she’s developing cellulitis. I would take her temperature (without Nsaids on board) and report your findings to your regular vet. The vet might decide to put her on

Re: Vets vs Beet Pulp
Right now beet pulp is the ONLY thing that my horse will eat right now for giving supplements. How much can we give not to stray too far from our balancing?
