Tina,
I agree with Sherry. If you request the ESC and Starch tests FIRST, and then find the levels too high for your horse you will only be out a small amount of money. You can then have a different

Re: Hay analysis , pre-purchase NFC and DM- what do they mean?
I find myself confused by the analysis. I would send a sample to Equi-Analytical or Dairy One (wet chemistry) to compare. What confuses me is ESC reported on the left column as 9.2, the WSC as 11.0

Cabergoline for vacation time
Hello.
I'm considering taking a short trip to visit relatives. I've got plenty of people to feed water and check on Emmy for me, but she doesn't trust just anyone with the upclose and personal

Hi Kelly,
At a glance I think you'd get more bang for your buck by getting your hay balanced if possible. This is double our recommend fat maximum for an IR horse and while the rest of the list isn't

Hi Bev, and welcome!
Your concern about tick borne diseases might warrant some testing. The symptoms of Lyme are not always well defined or obvious.

Hi Donna,
DM - Dry matter. We noramally don't look at that in feeding terms, we look at the 'as fed' numbers which this analysis doesn't provide. More info on that:

Hello
Welcome to the group Bev,
I hope you can find a way to NOT haul your mare right before a blood draw. Perhaps you can take her to the vet's clinic or area a day or two before the blood draw?

Hay analysis , pre-purchase NFC and DM- what do they mean?
I added a hay analysis to my Case History album, hoping that the fact that it had received some rain, might make it more
suitable for my mare. iI have labled it "Doug Eagleson Farm"
WSC is much lower
