Re: ivermectin price increase?
As I'm sure you've noticed ivermectin is now being labeled as not for human consumption and is out of stock in many places. If you don't have a supply on hand you'll be paying more for quite a while

Re: Dancer's Diet and Vet Response
So is Dancer's ideal weight 990 or closer to 900lbs? If it's 900lbs she should be eating no more than 18lbs a day. It sounds like you're feeding her less which can have its own issues.
Was she on

Re: Non weight bearing
This type of presentation is classic for an abscess, which do not always show up on rads. They can be far more painful than laminitis as well.

Re: Non weight bearing
Thank you for the suggestions. I will go get some Numotize and that. She doesn’t want to make at all right now, spending about 95% of the time laying down and won’t bear any weight on the left

ivermectin price increase?
Looks like my supplier of ivermectin at two dollars a tube has gone up to nine dollars a tube assuming because of Covid. Does anyone have a affordable source for the ivermectin tubes we buy

Re: Rose Update, New Test Results
She’s on a 90-day trial? You’ve shared that you’re completely overwhelmed with her care, and she’s not fitting in with the rest of your herd. Honestly, I’d return her.
Now, I’m not

Thank you Kristen
My friend Kim in this group came over (she lives in the next county so not a real short drive) and she shorten Chicy's toes to the white line. Then my farrier came and shortened

New body shots on Cadet, has he lost enough weight?
Hello,
Cadet has lost weight since our move; his calculated weight is 1014 lbs as of earlier this month, compared to 1100 lbs in May. I have uploaded new body shots.
Also, does anyone have experience

Re: How do people soak hay when the horse is at a boarding facility
To the group:
Does anyone have any comments on the OP's concern about drought? I have also been discouraged from soaking my preferred hay, which was good for most factors but S/S, because of local

Re: HIgh Insulin - looking for recomendation
Many thanks for pointing me in the direction of PPID (or seasonal PPID), otherwise I would thought he was just IR and put all my effort into diet and exercise. He has been on .5mg pergolide since

Re: I really need some help
I think you have to appreciate the fight/stress she's been through. If she was a human, she's be flat out in bed! When the infection is controlled the systemic inflammation will ease and she'll start

Dr. Kellon,
Thank you very much for responding to me! I really appreciate it! She is so depressed acting now, kind of like she is giving up. If there is anything you think we should add to stimulate

Re: Could someone tell me if the blood results could have been affected by sedative
Carrie,
There are no hard and fast rules for dosing. If she is stable/not laminitic on 1/2 mg, I'd leave her there. Schedule your October appointment for late in the month.

Kelly,
Her issues aren't related to endocrine/metabolic disease. She has had white counts suggestive of infection from the beginning. I don't know if Salmonella has been her problem all along but it

I switched to compounded pergolide just over a month ago, haven't retested yet but symptoms seem controlled through seasonal rise (also increased dose
